Acoustic Battle

and Nick Vasquez from Rolling Thunder Studios.

PRIZES
1st place…$500.00 + 2 days recording time with Rolling Thunder Studios
2nd place…$250.00 + 1 day recording time with Rolling Thunder Studios
Up to 4 instruments are allowed…..no drum kits.
The competition is open to all artists 16 and older, but material must be suitable for general audiences. Open to all music genres, ABSOLUTLEY NO obscene or offensive lyrics will be allowed. Also, indecent or obscene gestures will not be permitted.
Northern DJ Connection will supply house PA, mics, and mic Stands. Performers shall supply their own instruments and instrument cords.
Northern DJ Connection, Northern Star Broadcasting, Rolling Thunder Studios, or Auntie Pasta’s will not be responsible for damage or theft of personal property. (Watch your belongings)
Any disrespect from one performer toward another performer may cause disqualification. Please come to have fun as well as competing with one another.
Judging of contest: A panel of 3 judges will score musicians using a point system. Each judge shall be 25% of the final vote
Judges will vote on a point system consisting of a 20 point total.
Each act will be judged on the following criteria: (Max 5pt each category)
Musical Ability 5pts – Stage Presence 5pts – Originality 5pts – Audience Approval 5pts
The audience shall be 25% of vote as they will vote for the bands that perform that night by a ballot, which they will receive after the last performance of the evening. A ballot box will be supplied for audience votes. The audience members MUST be in attendance for the entire nights performance…..if you leave early, your vote does not count.
Remember the audience will be 25% of the vote each week. YOU WANT PEOPLE THERE FOR YOU!
Preliminary Round (15 min slots)
WEEK # 1 - July 14th
8 acts -……Top 4 acts will move to semi final round
WEEK # 2 - July 21st
8 acts -……Top 4 acts will move to semi final round
Semi Finals (30 min slots)
WEEK # 3 - July 28th
Winners from week 1 & 2 will compete……2 will move to finals
WEEK # 4 - August 4th
Winners from week 1 & 2 will compete…….2 will move to finals
FINALS (30 min slots)
WEEK # 5 - August 11th
4 acts to compete……………………………2 will move to final week
WEEK # 6 - August 18th
Top 2 acts to BATTLE!!!! Winner and runner-up announced…. (1 hour performance each)

By entering said competition you allow the use of your name and/or band name to be used in any newspaper, publication, or radio willing to cover the event.
We reserve the right to stop this contest at any time for any reason.
No poor sportsmanship will be accepted. This a competition, but it is for fun and a chance to perform your music and help all contestants to be seen a heard musically.
Not showing up on your required slot constitutes disqualification.
No negative remarks may be posted on your web sites or Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, or any social networking accounts about any other contestant or sponsor.
Any damage done by performers to Northern DJ Connections equipment, or venue property, is the responsibility of the performer(s) to replace said equipment/damage.
